ERG Company is currently constructing Deriner
Dam and Hydroelectric Power Plant in Artvin (northeast of
Turkey) awarded by the State Hydraulic Works (DSİ). Deriner
Dam is located on the Çoruh River and the type is a double
curvature concrete arch dam. The dam will be the highest in
Turkey and third highest in the world with a height of 253
meters. The excavations of the dam body, diversion tunnel
access roads and internal roads were constructed with approximately
2000 personnel. 85% of the total rock excavation of 30.000.000
m3 has been completed and the concreting of dam body having
a total of 3.500.000 m3 of concrete will start soon. The underground
power plant having 4x167.5 MW installed capacity will also
be constructed in this scope to provide 2.300 GWh of electrical
energy annually.
